Bleacher Report took it upon themselves to compare Division 1 CFB coaches to their “LOST” counterparts. Of course, Jim Tressel is compared to my least favorite character, Jack Shepherd.

You see, I hate Jack Shepherd on this show. He’s always trying to take it upon himself to fix everything, and he pretty much messes everything up.
He acts like a little b**** when it comes to Kate, and Sawyer famously put him in his place when Jack came back to 1977, pretty much telling him he is reactive, rather than proactive. And his lack of “proactivness” often leads to disastrous results.
Now that I think about it, Bleacher Report might have it right. In the BCS Championship game in ‘07 against Florida, it didn’t exactly seem like he had a sufficient game plan in preparation for their fast as lightning defense.
His reactive adjustments to Florida didn’t do a damn thing to stop pressure coming off the edges, and Florida pulled off the huge upset.
The same kind of thing happened against LSU.
I never found myself not liking Jim Tressel, but now that I sort of do. What OSU does need is CFB’s Desmond counterpart. You know, can see the future.
Now that’s how you become proactive.
