So, this guy from Murray State hits a half court shot from his knees to beat the buzzer last night.
I am all for trick shots. I used to work at a rec center, and I used to shoot roughly 20-30 half court shots a day, and got pretty good at it.
Dwight Howard set the world record this past weekend at the NBA Jam Session for the longest shot made while sitting down, and it clocked in at 52 feet, six inches.
Apparently, seven minutes later, some dude named Dustin Leach recorded himself breaking the record, and here is the video.
I’m not sure how valid this is, the camera does move, and the ball leaves the camera view, so I’m inclined to call this one fake.
(And is he doing this before a junior high dance?)
Nastruthomas told me about the Dwight Howard thing yesterday morning, but told me it was from 70 feet. He then told me he thought he could do it.
Here is a text I received from him yesterday, at 5:46 pm:
“i just drained my 1st and 3rd attempts at a 51 footer…”
If that in fact did happen, get it on tape Nastruthomas, because you’re not that far from the world record.
He also said he could do it from 70, but that’s beside the point…

I’m not sure about Dustin Leach’s shot. My guess is that it involved some tricky camera work.

Maybe nastruthomas can do this after he drops 100 on 8th graders…

If he does it during the game, he can count that 3 towards the 100!

i only watched it once, you’re right.
why would you feel compelled to tell me you made those shots if you were standing up?
