Yesterday, Josh Howard was traded to the Washington Wizards from the Dallas Mavericks, whose tenure there was pretty tumultuous.

Apparently on January 19th, coincidentally in DC for a game against the Wizards, he went out the night before, and was scratched for the next day’s game due to a “stomach issue”.

Multiple team sources said Howard missed the Mavericks’ Jan. 20 win over the Washington Wizards because of a hangover after a night of partying.

Howard refused comment.

That reaffirmed the Mavericks’ intention to move forward without Howard, who did not start another game after sitting out against the Wizards, when he missed the morning shootaround and did not dress for that game. The Mavericks, who were already shopping Howard and wanted to protect his trade value, announced that he had a stomach illness.

He must have been absolutely hammered that night, because to be hungover the next night takes a pretty epic night of drinking.

Nobody here is accusing Howard of not having a stomach issue, I’m sure he did.  It is no secret that alcohol can potentially lead to stomach problems the next day, but rarely do they last into the next night.

Hey, at least he wasn’t smoking weed, street racing, or decrying the national anthem.
